Signs go up for new state

It’s a long way to fruition, but the signs are already going up promoting a new state for Australia.

David Landini, from Wakool, is pushing the development of a new breakaway state, called Riverina, formed around the Murray River and including northern electorates of Victoria and a large swathe of rural NSW.

Mr Landini said the sign, erected near Hay, would be one of many to inform people of this proposed formation, and to promote the new state.

The governance of the state will include a Legislative Assembly consisting of members elected from electorates consisting of 10,000 voters (plus or minus 1000) — subject to electorates being no more than 10 per cent of the area of the state, and subject to…
