Lonnie Bishop remembered fondly as sporting fan and loyal friend | Lithgow Mercury




18.2.65 – 11.4.21 Lithgow boy Lonnie Bishop passed away in his home town on April, 11 aged 56, after coming home to live again only a month before, due to illness. Lonnie Clinton Bishop lived the first half of his life in Lithgow, before moving to Richmond where he lived for 27 years. So much had he become part of Richmond life, that Richmond Cricket Club established a new trophy after his passing, for one of its most loyal and enthusiastic supporters. At his Lithgow funeral at the Four Square Gospel Church on April 22, Richmond Cricket Club’s Michael Johnson announced the trophy, to be called the Lonnie Bishop Club Person of the Year for those whose hard work for the club is mostly done behind the scenes.
